Disbanded vigilante group set home of ex-DPO ablaze in Rivers

Members of the disbanded OSPAC,  a local vigilante  group in Obelle community, Emohua Local Area of Rivers State has allegedly set ablaze the house of a former Acting Chairman of Community Development Community ,CDC; in the community and ex-Divisional Police Officer, DPO, Chief Israel Anele.

Anele who confirmed this in an interview stated that the disbanded OSPAC members were led by one ‘Naked Wire’ who was recently accused by the Emohua Local Government chairman, Dr Chidi Lloyd of being responsible for some of the killings in Ibaa and Obelle communities in the area.

The community leader said the arsonists who came at about 4:00pm yesterday threw his 70 year old aunt out of the building, removed all the burglary proof  before pouring petrol and setting his 7 bedroom flat ablaze.

The  former DPO said his only offence was that he spoke against the killing of his nephew, Darlington Worahu, a serving soldier who was allegedly killed by the disbanded vigilante members on the 5th of March, 2022 at the community.

Anele stated that he fled the state after members of the group trailed him to his house in Port Harcourt.
