Cole congratulates Tinubu, urges Rivers APC to focus on guber race

The governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Arc. Tonye Cole has congratulated the presidential standard bearer of the party, Senator Bola Tinubu on his victory at the just concluded primaries.

This is even as he called on party men and women in the state, to channel their energy to the 2023 gubernatorial elections.

Cole, an ally to the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, in a statement on Thursday, said although the former minister had lost at the polls, his position in 2nd place “is not something we take lightly at all.”

According to him, “While I understand the disappointment and low feeling that accompany not winning the ticket, we have every reason to be proud of the race we ran and our results.

“If we must express emotions, let us immediately redirect our energy and even anger to focus on the next great task at hand: the race to the Brick House in 2023.

“At times like this, we must reach deep inside us and bring forth the essence of who we truly are: a courageous, determined and resolute people.

“We, therefore, move through this moment with hope, strength, and conviction. It is not over until we say it is.

“Our march of courage continues; our ultimate victory is assured. I, therefore, call upon you all to remain focused and undaunted – with our spirit remaining unbroken, our heads are not bowed in shame. We did our duty to our country and party. And so posterity and history will judge us kindly because we marched with courage when it mattered most.

“We, therefore, congratulate HE Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for winning the ticket and all other aspirants for putting up an incredible race, our democracy is strengthened for it.”
