A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Senator Wilson Asinobi Ake has declared that Senator Magnus Abe will be the next governor of Rivers State and occupant of the Brick House in Port Harcourt.

Ake, a former lawmaker who represented Rivers West Senatorial District stated this at the flagged-off of the registration exercise for Project SMA 2023.

The statewide sensitization for registration into Project SMA, 2023, started Wednesday with the Rivers East Senatorial District and all 8 councils in the zone .

Speaking at the event, Ake expressed confidence that Abe will be the next governor of the state, adding that the exercise would get to all units in the state.

” This is a launching of Projects SMA 2023. Most of you don’t know where we are now, we are at the gate of Brick House and we are now knocking on that gate , that the occupants should leave because we are coming to be the next landlord of Brick House . Why am I so confident? I am confident because I have seen the hand of God in everything we are doing. Without God , we wouldn’t have been at the stage we are today. If certain things had happened before now , possibly we may not have had the chance or the courage to come here today , but our leader , the one that led the Israelites out of Egypt is the one leading us out of Egypt. My second courage , my confident starts from the qualities of the man leading the race. The man we have , Senator Magnus Ngei Abe , the Mene-Suanu 1 of Ogoni land , is a general that one can happily join and follow . We have come to this point , and he made a public statement that, “I Senator Magnus Ngei Abe , will be on the ballot in 2023″ and i want to reaffirm that , that Senator Magnus Ngei Abe will be on the ballot in 2023. It is now confirmed,” he said .

Senator Ake urged party faithfuls to go to their wards and units and bring in true supporters of Senator Magnus Abe .

“Now that we have confirmed , what are we going to do? And that is why we are here . Our duty now is to go to our various wards and units and bring in the true followers of Senator Magnus Ngei Abe , you are now the evangelist , you are now the men and women that are going to do the job , because you are sure of where you are going to. So we have documents for you, we have form that you will use in registration,” he said.

In the registration, he explained that, “What you will  do, each wards is given at this moment two booklets , each booklets contains hundred leaflets which means you can have two hundred leaflets and there will be more for the fastest ward that will take first that will complete two hundred.

We have lineup awards for the wards that will prove that they are ready , prepared and completely on ground to ensure that Magnus presence is felt heavily in their wards. If you finish your two hundred first , let us know . Although we have a cyber that will record . The ward and Local government Area that will finish their two hundred membership each wards , have an award, and that award is going to be heavy. So that will let u know how seriously we considered this assignment” .

On his part, chairman of the Rivers East Senatorial District Committee for the registration of Project SMA 2023 , Chief Tony Okocha said the essence of the project is to test Senator Abe’s popularity ahead of the elections.

“We are initiating a novelty in the political space in Rivers state, what is the novelty about? It is about a test of solidarity in terms of support of a candidate or an individual who says he wants to be governor of the state. What we are doing right now is for Rivers people to actually tell themselves the truth, who and who or who should govern them in 2023 in Rivers state. And so we are going to test Magnus Abe’s popularity and that is why we have flagged off what we call , “Project SMA 2023 registration”. This registration is across board , it’s across political party, I mean , there is no limitation, it is for indigene and non indigenes alike , so we are trying to do a referendum on his popularity and it will also aid in our decision as to what will happen with Magnus Abe for Rivers people in 2023,” he said .
