Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike Wednesday night, played host to his counterparts from Cross River State, Prof. Ben Ayade and Ebonyi State, Dave Umahi.
The two governors met Wike in his country home in Rumueprikom, Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
Umahi and Ayade are members of the All Progressives Congress while Wike is a Peoples Democratic Party chieftain.
Although, details of the meeting was not revealed to pressmen, but it was learnt that the meeting may not be unconnected with forming an alliance ahead of the 2023 general elections.
It was also gathered that the two governors left Port Harcourt without having an interface with the leadership of the APC in the state despite their earlier plea.
It could be recalled that Rivers APC had during a tour of states by the zonal vice chairman of the party, Chief Victor Giadom lamented about the embarrassment they receive each time an APC governor or bigwig comes into the state to visit Wike .
They said it was demeaning for their party bigwigs to enter the state, commission projects with Wike who is an opposition governor without minding that APC exists in the state.
The party leadership in the meeting appealed to them to stop frolicking with Wike in order not to demoralize the party in the state.
