Labour Party to constitute two million polling units taskforce in Rivers

Ahead the 2023 general elections, the Labour Party in Rivers State said it has concluded plans to institute a two million man task force to monitor the  various polling units in the state.

Chairman of the party in the state, Dienye Pepple who disclosed this at the weekend after meeting with various support groups of the party and its candidates said the taskforce will ensure that their votes are protected in the various polling units of the state during the election.

“We met with all the supports groups in Rivers State for Peter Obi and each of them have thousands of followers so we are setting up 300-man-per-unit taskforce so it’s called 2 million man polling units taskforce for Peter Obi across Rivers State so it will be divided to the 6866 polling units in the state.

“Those are the people that will work at those units to ensure that the votes are defended. We are ready to take everything, atleast ninety percent for Peter Obi and our governorship and all Labour Party candidates would benefit from this move so we are going to ensure that Labour Party sweeps all the position in Rivers State in 2023,” he said.

He noted that members of the taskforce are volunteers who are ready to work for the victory of the party in 2023 and to defend their votes.

“The governor is appointing special advisers and to me that one is only degrading the office of special adviser because most of those persons are not profiled but what we are doing here, they are not going to be paid, this are people coming out with their own minds, people that have passion for this movement, people that have passion to take back Nigeria,” he said.
