We have provided conducive environment for health system to thrive-Rivers govt

The Rivers State Government says it has ensured the provision of a conducive environment for the health system to thrive.

Rivers State Deputy Governor, Dr. Ipalibo Harry Banigo stated this while speaking during the National Executive Council Meeting of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGGMDP) in Port Harcourt.

Represented by her Director of Administration, Ben Roberts, Dr. Banigo stressed that under the watch of Governor Wike, government has carried out monumental projects and programmes which are quite visible for the effective and efficient performance of health personnel.

Dr. Banigo urged them to articulate and evolve workable strategies for the delivery of health services to the citizenry during the summit, stressing that with the caliber of persons’ present the purpose of the summit would be achieved.

The State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Princewill Chike urged doctors to adhere strictly to the Physician’s Pledge which puts the wellbeing of patients above any personal interest.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Roland Obed-Whyte said the meeting was called not only to fraternize but to acquire knowledge from experts from various fields, while urging participants to listen attentively to the lectures which would be beneficial to their medical practice.
