The Rivers State Commissioner for Education Prof Prince Chinedu Mmom has placed an indefinite suspension on the principal and vice principal of Birabi Memorial Grammar School Bori.
Also, the commissioner suspended the principal of Government Comprehensive Secondary School Borikiri.
He announced the suspension during his routine monitoring of West African Examination Council Examination going in the state.
The commissioner while announcing their suspension accused them of shortchanging legitimate students of the schools by collecting money from external candidates and registering them for the ongoing West African Senior Secondary School Examination, in place of students of the school.
Mmom, who condemned the conduct of the principals, ordered them to report to the office of the Commissioner for Education.
He delared his ministry’s zero tolerance to all forms of examination malpractice and illegal collection of money from pupils and students saying that the Rivers State Government has paid fees for all students writhing external examinations in all public schools in the state.
