FCT: Houses will go down, Wike threatens

Newly inaugurated Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike has threatened to demolish all structures defacing the nation’s capital city.

Wike in his maiden briefing shortly after assumption of office on Monday, those who have bought lands but yet to developed them would also loss their certificates.

He equally threatened to chase away persons selling under umbrellas in the city.  

His words: “If you built houses where you are not supposed to build them in Abuja, I will demolish the houses and nothing will happen. Heaven won’t Fall.

People who have built houses on green areas in Abuja, it will go down, I will bring them down, I don’t care who you are and where you come from; the right thing must be done.

“All those land you bought for many years without developing them I will revoke them. Even those uncomplicated building in FCT I will take them back and sell them to those who are ready to develop Abuja.

“It won’t be business as usual for all of you selling under umbrellas in Abuja City, start packing your loads”
