Super Falcons defender, Plumptre quits England

Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has disclosed that she no longer intends to play her football in England.

Plumptre was part of the Super Falcons squad that  lost via penalty shootouts to England in the round of 16 of the 2023 Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

Recall that Plumptre is a free agent after leaving Leicester City at the end of last season following the expiration of her contract.

In chat with Eagles tracker, the Nigerian international, who distances herself from the rumoured Man United move, stated that she’s determined to play outside of England.

“I am actually going abroad. I guess some people don’t think that because there’s been a lot of rumours,” she told Eagles Tracker.

“Making the trip to play abroad again, be away from my family is obviously a big thing, but I have a lot of fire in my belly about what I want to do with the people that I believe in like my coaches.”
