People of Ogoni in Rivers State, were yesterday, thrown into mourning over the death of one of their illustrious sons, Barrister Dinebari Loolo.
Loolo, who was the member representing Khana Constituency 2 in the State House of Assembly died yesterday in Port Harcourt.
Although the cause of death has not been disclosed, Ogonis took to various social media platforms to express their grief over the sudden demise of the lawmaker.
They described him as being a good man and helper to many in the area.
One of the Ogoni leaders, Dr Douglas Fabeke in a social media post, recalled the fruitful discussions her had with the late lawmaker on plans to upgrade a school in the area.
Fabeke described it as a ‘black day’ for people of the area.
“I talked with you about upgrading the infrastructure of C.S.S Buako and we both agreed. That you are no more today is too shocking to be real. I never expected this kind of news. Buako and Nyo-khana, what a black Monday. We are sad,” he wrote.
Meanwhile, Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, yesterday, led other members of the house on a condolence visit to the family of the deceased lawmaker.
The speaker, who spoke on behalf of his colleagues, expressed the condolences of the House to the family, describing him as a rare gem, who contributed immensely to the development of his constituency and the state as a whole.
He urged the family to take solace in the fact that the late lawmaker lived a life of service to humanity and left a legacy that would forever be remembered.
He assured the family of the continued support of the assembly.
