RIVPA condemns killing of SP Bako

…..Calls for thorough investigation

The Independent Newspaper Publishers Association of Rivers State (RIVPA), has condemned the killing of Ahoada East Divisional Police Officer, SP Angbasim Bako, by suspected cultists in Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State.

A press statement issued on Monday, 25th, September, 2023, and signed on behalf of the Association by the Chairman,  Gloria Boma Harry and the General Secretary, Mr. Augustine Tanee, urged the security operatives in the state to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous crime are apprehended and prosecuted.

The statement commended the Commissioner of Police, CP Emeka Polycarp Nwonyi, and his team for the progress made so far, reiterating that such criminal elements should be fished out from the State.

The Association, also lauded the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, for his quick action and sincere commitment towards the security of lives and properties in every nook and cranny of the State.

RIVPA, further expressed the willingness of the association to partner  with security agencies and all relevant  authorities in the state to ensure a peaceful Rivers State, where everybody will live and do their businesses freely and peacefully.
