Chris Finebone, a former commissioner for Information and Communication under Nyesom Wike as Rivers State governor, has taken a position against the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Minister in the crisis rocking the state.
Finebone, who was a spokesperson of the Rivers State All Progressives Congress, APC, and worked with Chibuike Amaechi during his time as governor, shocked many when he dumped the former Minister of Transport and joined Wike’s camp few months to the 2023 governorship election and was subsequently appointed a commissioner.
He was the Rivers State Publicity Secretary of the party and was known for his vocal, strongly-worded press statements against the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
He attacked Wike’s administration in Rivers State, as well as other individuals and groups that seem to be working against the interest of his former principal, Amaechi.
Finebone subsequently dumped Amaechi for Wike.
But it appears he has now dumped Wike and followed his kinsman, Governor Siminalayi Fubara, who has been at daggers-drawn with Wike .
In a social media tweet, Finebone said he learnt from Wike.
“One man’s interest cannot be greater than the interest of the overwhelming majority of Rivers people,” Finebone tweeted.
“When he was Governor, he taught us that the interest of Rivers State must come first at all times.
“As good students of his political philosophy, we will abide by what we were taught.”
