Tai council flags-off free medical outreach

As part of effort aimed at tackling the health challenges facing the people of  Tai local government council in Rivers State, chairman of the council, Mathew Dike  has flagged-off a two weeks free medical care programme in the council.

Dike, while flagging-off the programme at the Nonwa-Uedume Community Health Centre, said it is aimed at addressing general health issues facing the people, especially the women.

He noted that  on assumption of office, the governor, Sir Siminilayi Fubara, directed all council chairmen to embark on programmes that will put smiles on the faces of the people particularly as the country is going through economic meltdown.

He noted that he understood that the people are going through difficulties and so council has decided to subsidize their health needs.

Dike declared that consultations, diagnostic tests, surgical operations, drugs and all services are to be rendered free of charge during the programme.

He urged the people to cooperate with the team of doctors to ensure the smooth running of the  programme.

The council boss also promised to revamp the council’s sick-bay.

On his part, the Medical Health Officer of Tai, Dr. Keke Rammyson, said the free medical programme has a wide range spectrum ranging from, consultations, optometry, dentistry and surgery of all kind.

He assured  that his team  would be on ground to handle any situation.

Dr Rammyson urged the people to take advantage of the opportunity as the well-being of the people is paramount to the council.
