Change of heart, panacea for a new Nigeria – Kumuyi

By: Felix Ikpotor

General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Dr Williams Kumuyi has stressed the need for a change of heart by all Nigerians to usher in the expected change.

Kumuyi, stated this during the Men’s Conference of the ongoing Change Makers International Conference in Port Harcourt.

Speaking on the theme, “Refreshing and Refined Change Makers,” he emphasized the need for Nigerians to have a rethink about how far the country has gone and make amends.

He said until there is a rethinking and a change of mind towards the situation in Nigeria, there won’t be solutions to the myriads of problem facing the country.

“There is no time for examining what you have done, what you’re doing and what you have almost done and find out if I go on like this, what would I be in five years to come, if I move on like this, what would I achieve in ten years to come, if  we continue like this decades will come and where shall we be?

“From independence, we had the civil war, after the civil war, we started rebuilding again and it came up to this level and then the democratic government came in, and now we are here and within these years we have gone from there on to here.

“If we continue like this and nobody changes, the speed at which we are going now, where shall we be in ten years, in 20 years like other countries. We all as Christians, as believers, where are we going to be? And we say, we need a rethinking, we need a refreshing then, there would be a change.

“Then we would come up with the solution that will save our family, our community, save our environment from going down the drain and in our lifetime, we will see that positive change,” Kumuyi stated.

The revered cleric charged participants at the conference to take action to make the country better.

“We are the people to change the world, my brothers, my sister’s do something, be practical don’t  just  be a theoretical change maker,” Kumuyi said.
