Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminialayi Fubara has advocated healthy competition and partnership amongst Nigerians to enhance  better nation building.

Fubara, who stated this through the Head of Rivers State Civil Service, Dr. George Nwaeke, at the closing ceremony of the Change Makers International Conference held from 15th -20th October in Port Harcourt noted healthy partnership can trigger the change that can develop the communities.

He also prayed that the effect of the programme be experienced globally.

“I pray for the ripple effect of positive change globally. We have seen how people lead initiatives that uplift communities from fighting poverty to enhancing education and health. It is these examples that we must emulate to create a more equitable and tolorable society.

“As we engage in discussion throughout this conference let us embody the spirit of collaboration, not unhealthy competition. I encourage each one of us to forge partnerships, share ideas and take tangible steps towards making a lasting impact in our communities. Together we can harness our collective strength for the greater good of our immediate communities, our nation and indeed the entire mankind,” Fubara stated.

He used the medium to charge Christians to anchor their trust on God for the success of any plan.

“There is one particular ingredient that I will not want to throw away in the course of all that we are doing. As humans we could plan, we could execute but the ultimate result must always come from the Supreme God. Therefore I ask you to always anchor your plans  in the hands of God. We want the will of God to be done,” Fubara said.

He also thanked the organisers of the conference for their commitment.

” I thank you once more for your commitment to the course. I have benefitted by coming here, both spiritually, physically and in whatever I will do. May the conversations here catalyse actions that indeed drive positive change and make a lasting social impact. We look forward to witnessing the great outcomes that will arise from our shared efforts. Be you not just hearers but also implement what you have learnt here today,” the Governor said.

In his concluding teaching, Convener of the conference and General Superintendent of Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Dr Williams Kumuyi noted that the Change Makers International have started and good thing and assured that the project would go all over the world.

“We’ve started a good thing and that good thing is going all over the globe. This project that comes up now, will continue through you,” he stated.

Highpoint of the closing ceremony was the presentation of a symbolic pen to the GS by a group of Rivers journalist who took part in the conference.
