Khana 2024: Yamaabana calls for calm, reaffirms loyalty to Fubara

Dr Legborsi Yamaabana, a chairmanship hopeful in Khana Local Government Area has called for calm from his supporters following the consensus decision that Martin Nwigbo should fly the ticket of the Action Peoples Party, APP, in the October 5, 2024 local council polls in Rivers State.

Recall that the decision to anoint Nwigbo sparked wild protest from some youths of Khana LGA.

But Yamaabana who was a Frontline contender has called for calm, aligning himself with the decision of Governor Siminalayi Fubara to annoint Nwigbo for the office.
Speaking at a press conference, Yamaabana stated that even though the decision to pick another person was frustrating, he however, urged the youths to halt further protest.

“I understand and respect the frustrations that have led to these reactions, but I urge all of you, especially the passionate youths of Khana, to halt further protests and agitation”.

He said his loyalty remains with Governor Fubara while encouraging his supporters to rally round the endorsed candidate, Martins Nwigbo.

“Let me be clear: my loyalty to Sir Siminalayi Fubara, is unshakeable. I did not support him for personal gain, and I will not abandon him now. If he succeeds, we all succeed. If he fails, I fail alongside him. My commitment to him and our shared vision for Rivers State will remain steadfast until the end.

“I also want to encourage all my supporters to rally behind Martins Nwigbo, the Action People’s Party (APP) candidate for Khana Local Government. Hon. Nwigbo is experienced and capable, and I am confident that he will bring the much-needed development to Khana LGA,” he stated.

Yamaabana congratulated his colleagues in the Simplified Family for emerging flag-bearers for their respective councils such as Chijioke Ihunwo, Oforibika Ishmael, Brain Gokpa, Matthew Nenubari Dike, Enyiada Cookey-gam, Monday Dumiye and others.
