Former Rivers State Commissioner of Police, AIG, Mohammed Bala Mustapha has officially handed over to CP Olubenga Adewale Adepoju, the newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Rivers State.
Mohammed Bala Mustapha who was recently promoted Assistant Inspection General of Police, AIG, and deployed to Zone 6 Calabar while speaking during a brief handover ceremony at the Police Officers’ Mess in Port Harcourt, appreciated the officers and men of the Rivers State Police Command and residents of the state for their support and cooperation during his three months stay as Commissioner of Police in the state
He said the Rivers Police Command during his administration recorded several achievements ranging from crime fighting, peace keeping, human and infrastructural developments in the state.
He congratulated his successor, CP Olubenga Adepoju, who served under him Deputy Commissioner of Police in-charge of operations, adding that even while he was away, the state remained peaceful.
He further urged officers of the command, people of the state and the media to give the the new commissioner of police all the necessary support to enable him succeed in policing the state.
In his response, the new Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju thanked his predecessor, AIG Mustapha Bala for his fatherly disposition while they worked together.
He said “On behalf of officers and men of the command,I express my gratitude to AIG Bala. He has seen us through alot.He has shown exceptional leadership.We enjoyed his stay in Rivers”
