Clergy counsels couples as Rivers Board member takes wife to altar

‎A clergyman and lead pastor of Lighthouse Ministries Port Harcourt, Pastor Henry Amadi has called on husbands to love their wives just as Christ loved the church while urging wives to be submissive to their husbands.

‎He gave the charge during the wedding of Ambassador Victor Sorlesi Nwikpo, Board Member Rivers State Contributory Health Protection Programme and his wife, Peace.

‎He also cautioned that it is necessary for intending couples to fulfil all the three stages of marriage such as traditional, court and church to be fully recognised as a married person.

‎Pastor Amadi further charged the couples in line with Ephesians 5:25 which commands husbands to emulate Christ’s love for the church in loving their wives, while the women are to submit totally to their husbands for harmony to reign in the family.

‎”A lot argue of people argue that only traditional marriage is recognised, it’s not true. The three are all important.

‎”My message to them is simple. In Ephesians 5:25 where Paul commanded husbands to love their wives as Christ loved the church and wives to submit themselves to their own husbands. So my message to Ambassador Victor is to keep loving his wife while I will also urge his wife to submit totally to him.

‎The groom, Ambassador Victor on his part described his marriage as the best, stressing thst the step he has taken is indicative that he has decided to live with his wife forever.

‎He charged intending couples to go about it with utmost maturity and seriousness.

‎”My message is that people should do away with misinformation concerning court marriage and church wedding and also note that marriage is for matured minds. So if you have concluded that this is the woman that you are going to spend your entire life with, there should be no fear. Go ahead and perform all rites, ” he stated.

‎A relative of the bride,  Mimi Pepple said they are happy as a family and promises to support the couple.
