BEYOND POLITICS, BARIERE IS BUILDING FAMILIES, SHAPING  FUTURE THROUGH EMPOWERMENT

By:  Kpazoo Morrison

‎In Khana Local Government Area, leadership is increasingly being measured not only by projects executed, but by lives transformed. Under the stewardship of Dr. Thomas Bariere Ariar, the Executive Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, empowerment has taken on a deeply human meaning-one that reflects growth, responsibility, and stability.

‎One of the most visible indicators of this transformation is seen among the Chairman’s close aides, supporters, and young men often referred to as “his boys.” From Dr. Thomas’ first tenure in office to his second, many of these young men have moved from singlehood into marriage, with several now celebrating their weddings and starting families of their own. Beyond the joy of the ceremonies lies a more profound story of economic upliftment and personal development.

‎Marriage, in this context, is not merely a social milestone; it is a sign of preparedness, financial, emotional, and social. For many of these young men, the confidence to take such a step has been built on the foundation of empowerment provided by Dr. Thomas Bariere’s administration. Through access to opportunities, encouragement, mentorship, and inclusion in governance, they have been positioned to stand on their feet and plan for the future.

‎Dr. Thomas’ empowerment drive has gone beyond rhetoric. His administration has consistently prioritized youth inclusion, welfare support, and capacity building. By creating an enabling environment where young people can earn, learn, and lead, he has helped them transition from dependence to responsibility. This deliberate approach has produced visible outcomes, stable livelihoods, renewed self-worth, and now, the formation of new families.

‎A recent example that further underscores this narrative occurred just last weekend, when Mr. Daniel Siraa and Mr.  Endy Nubor  celebrated their weddings in grand style. The joyous occasions drew friends and well-wishers, reflecting the impact of empowerment on social confidence and stability. Dr. Thomas Bariere graced both ceremonies, personally celebrating the success and progress of his aides, an act widely seen as symbolic of a leader who takes pride in the growth of those around him.

‎Observers within Khana note that this trend speaks volumes about the Chairman’s leadership philosophy. Rather than amassing followers who remain perpetually dependent, he has invested in people who are growing, settling down, and contributing meaningfully to society. In many ways, the marriages being celebrated today are symbolic fruits of empowerment policies planted years ago.

‎The story of these young men serves as a reminder that true empowerment is holistic. It is about economic strength, social stability, and the confidence to take life’s next big steps. For Dr. Thomas Bariere, transforming “his boys” from singlehood into responsible family men stands as a quiet but powerful testimony to leadership that uplifts, empowers, and endures.
