Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Thomas Bariere has emphasized the need for peaceful coexistence by residents of the council.
He stated that peace remains key to development in the area.
The council boss gave the charge when he hosted the Women’s Fellowship of Methodist Church Nigeria (MCN), Diocese of Bori, Wesley Cathedral Bori, on the occasion of their 2026 Women’s Work Week, at his contryhome in Baen Community.
The chairman who encouraged the women to continue spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to every corner of the LGA, emphasized the importance of promoting peace in families, churches, and the larger society.
He also assured them of the council’s commitment to maintaining peace across the local government area, adding that his administration is attentive to matters concerning security and harmony within the area.
Bariere further urged the women to continually pray for the success of the Khana Local Government administration, noting that collective support and prayers from the people will contribute significantly to the progress and stability of the council.
During the visit, the women expressed their appreciation to the Chairman for his efforts in restoring peace within Bori metropolis and its surrounding communities. They also commended the chairman for the installation of solar-powered street lights across major roads in Bori, noting that the initiative has improved security and enhanced the socio-economic activities within the area.
