‎The All Progressives Congress (APC) South-South Zone on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, held its zonal congress at Dome event centre, in Asaba, Delta State, where a new executive committee emerged following the dissolution of the former leadership.

‎At the congress, Chief Victor Tombari Giadom from Rivers State was re-elected as the APC South-South National Vice Chairman through a consensus vote, while Dr. Samuel Nwanosike was elected as the Zonal Publicity Secretary.

‎Reacting to the outcome,  Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Thomas Bariere, described the congress as peaceful and well-organized.

‎He particularly expressed delight over the emergence of Giadom and Nwanosike, noting that their election is a strong indication of the party’s growing inclusiveness and recognition of Rivers State.

‎Furthermore, Bariere congratulated both leaders on their victories, expressing confidence in their ability to strengthen the party’s structure and communication across the South-South zone.

‎He also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other party stakeholders for their roles in ensuring a smooth and credible process, adding that members from Rivers State would return home to further propagate the Renewed Hope Agenda.

‎Our correspondent reports that the Congress was well  attended by key stakeholders, including the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, governors, lawmakers, and party leaders from across the six South-South states.
