The African Democratic Party (ADC) in Rivers State has elected Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa as its state chairman.
Dimkpa, who is a strong ally of former transportation minister, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi emerged from the party’s congress held at the weekend. The Congress held despite uncertainties about the national leadership of the party.
Recall that following a court judgement which voided the Senator David Mark-led National Executives of the party, some state chapters of the party cancelled their congresses. However, the Rivers State chapter loyal to Amaechi went ahead with its congress leading to the emergence of Dimkpa.
The state congress held despite earlier attacks on its ward congress in Abua/Odual Local Government Area of the state.
Meanwhile, the immediate-past chairman of the party, Chief Leader Sampson in a message on his verified social media handle has congratulated the newly elected EXCO.
He also called for support for the party to ensure success in the forthcoming elections.
“As ADC State Chairman Rivers State I extend my heartfelt congratulations to all the newly elected executives. Your dedication, passion, and commitment to our cause are truly inspiring. Together, we will forge a path towards progress and unity in our party.
”Let’s work hand in hand to achieve our goals and make a positive impact, ” he wrote.
