Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike on Monday, vowed to tackle cult-related activities in some parts of the state.

He declared that his administration would take the battle to the doorsteps of those that sponsor cult-related killings.

Wike spoke at the  Government House in Port Harcourt when the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers paid him a congratulatory visit on his re-election.

The governor disclosed that he met with the State Security Council on Sunday Night,  adding that modalities have been worked out on how to rid the state of cult-related killings.

The governor appealed to the State Council of Traditional Rulers to support his administration in the fight against cultism as prompt information will be useful in tracking down the criminal elements.

He stressed that he will jealously guard the interest of Rivers State and ensure further development of the State.

He said: “We will not allow these cultists who want to paint the state black to continue to cause mayhem.

“We will take the fight to them. Enough is enough. These people cannot continue to kill our people.

“I am a total, unrepentant Rivers Man. I will continue to jealously Guard the interest of the state.”
