Rivers CP charges officers to be more dedicated

…Decorates 19 new SPs

The Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan, has charged the 19 newly promoted police officers to consider their promotion as a call for increased commitment to duty and hard work.

Among the 19 decorated officers, who were promoted to the rank of Superintendents of Police (SPs) is the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Nnamdi Omoni.

While decorating the officers with their new ranks, Mukan, urged them to be diligent in their duties and assured that his administration will  support officers to ensure that they carry out their duties efficiently.

The state commissioner of police used the opportunity to commend the Inspector General of Police for finding the officers worthy of the promotion, charging them to ensure transparency and good sense of judgment in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Responding on behalf of the newly promoted officers, SP Nnamdi Omoni assured that they will put n their best to justify the confidence reposed in them.

Meanwhile, the EMOLGA Journalists Association (EJA), an umbrella body of all practicing Journalists in Emohua Local government area of Rivers State has congratulated the State Police Public Relations Officer, Nnamdi Omoni on his promotion to the rank of Superintendent of Police.

EJA in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Kennedy Wedeh Jnr and Public Relations Officer, Emmanuel Ovundah Nlewedum described the elevation of SP Omoni as well deserved.

The EMOLGA Journalists while describing SP Omoni as a hardworking gentleman that has performed efficiently as the PPRO of the Rivers State Police Command also commended the Inspector General of Police for finding the officers worthy of the promotion.

The statement reads in part, “The EMOLGA Journalists Association wish to congratulate a true and proud son of Emohua Local government area, SP Nnamdi Omoni for the honour he has brought to Emohua LGA and the Ikwerre nation following his recent promotion. It is an elevation well deserved.

“Omoni who is the ‘Image Maker/PPRO’ of the Rivers State Police Command, has performed excellently well and contributed immeasurably to the unprecedented achievements of the force in the state and Nigeria at large.

“His promotion is a confirmation that hard work can still be rewarded.

“While we are confident that his elevation will spur him for greater works, we urge him to continue to justify the confidence reposed in him by the Nigerian Police Force.

“We therefore, wish him all the best in his new position”.
