Anxiety in Khana community over fresh killings

By: Felix Ikpotor

There is palpable fear in Duburo Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State following a fresh attack by suspected cultist in the area leading to the death of a youth by name Ledum Nwiekina.

Confirming the incident, Community Development Committee Chairman (CDC) of the area, Mr. Vincent Gbosi said suspected cultist stormed the area last weekend and unleashed mayhem, calling on the government and security agencies to intervene.

The CDC chairman recalled that earlier in June the gunmen struck in the community and killed two persons and further called on security agencies to provide adequate security for the community.

Further investigation revealed that the renewed killings is not  unconnected with the supremacy battle between members of the Iceland and Degbam cult groups in the area.

PHSpectator recalls that few weeks ago a commander of the Khana Security And Peace Advisory Council (KHASPAC) Mr. Saro Nelson was assassinated by unknown gunmen at Bori few metres away from the Divisional Police Headquarters.
