Rivers govt sack contractors handling school over poor performance

Rivers State government has terminated the contract of some contractors working on one of the state owned schools.

A statement from the Sir. Chidi Adiele, Permanent Secretary in the state ministry of education accused the contractors of poor performance.

The statement reads thus: “following the lack-lustre performance of contractors awarded contracts at Government Secondary School, Okarki in Ahoada-West Local Government Area of Rivers State, and the complete abandonment of the ongoing projects at the school since 2019, His Excellency Governor Nyesom Wike, has approved the immediate cancellation of all the contracts awarded in the school.

For the avoidance of doubts, the affected contractors include Arigbe Nigeria Limited, Reachmax  Global Services Co. and Caro Integrated Services.

By this announcement, the contractors are directed to handover all Government Property related to the execution of the contracts to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, latest 3rd February 2021”.
