Wike gifts new cars to RSIEC commissioners ahead of LGA elections

By: Felix Ikpotor

With less than two months to the conduct of local council polls in the state, Rivers State government has gifted new cars to commissioners in the State’s Independent Electoral Commission, RSIEC.

Although no formal handover ceremony has been done but, this publication can authoritatively report that the cars are already parked in the commission’s premises along the Port Harcourt-Aba expressway.

The car donations followed similar donations to the judiciary and members of the state and national assemblies.

Previous donations by the governor, Nyesom Wike sparked-off  criticism from residents of the state who felt it was unnecessary  as the state parades one of the highest numbers of unemployed youths in the country.
