Member representing Khana/Gokana Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Dumnamene Robinson Dekor has called on Christians to assist in curbing cultism, a menace that has bedeviled the society through the propagation of God’s word.
He made the appeal at the 19th Synod of the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Bori, hosted by Sogho Circuit at the Wesley Cathedral Bori, Khana Local Government Area.
He beckoned on the church to ensure the theme of the programme which is “Watch and Pray” is exemplified in the various communities in Khana and beyond.
The Federal Lawmaker who served as chairman of the plenary expressed sadness over the inability of the Sogho Circuit to host the 19th Diocesan Synod in Sogho due to fear of insecurity. He said with the new Police Division in Taabaa criminal elements terrorising the area will be overwhelmed and call on the church to partner with government and the security agencies to restore peace in the area.
On his part, Dr. Bariere Thomas, Chairman-Elect Khana LGA promised to flush out criminal elements terrorising the area including their sponsors in order for peace to return.
The lawmaker was presented an award by the Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocesan Youth fellowship as Bori Youth Father of Honour (DYFoH).
Dignitaries who graced the occasion includes Dr. Thomas Bariere, Hon. Austin Sor, Hon. Charles Befii Nwile, Hon. Dinebari Loolo amongst others.
