COVID-19: Rivers govt recalls civil servants

Following the slowing down of COVID-19 infections in the state, Rivers State Government-employed workers from grade level 1-13 have been directed to resume work in their various offices with effect from Thursday.

A statement by the State Head of Service, Sir Rufus Godwins, on Wednesday, also urged the affected civil servant to ensure strict compliance with the mandatory COVID-19 protocols  of social distancing, use of face mask or shield and hand sanitisers.

The statement enjoined all permanent secretaries and heads of other ministerial parrastatals to monitor and ensure compliance with the resumption directive.

Governor Nyesom Wike had on the second wave of the pandemic exempted civil servants on grade level 1-13 from coming to work.
