Oil Blocks: Militants bomb Chevron gas pipeline as ultimatum to Atiku, Danjuma expires

Consequent upon the expiration of the 2-week ultimatum issued to the owners of oil blocks and oil companies to evacuate their staff from the Niger Delta, militant group, Niger Delta Avengers, yesterday morning bombed the main pipeline supplying gas that provides electricity to Escravos Tank Farm in Delta State owned by Chevron.

Recall that the group had on May 12 issued a 2-week ultimatum to owners of oil blocks notably former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, and former Defence Minister, Theophilus Danjuma to evacuate their staff or face the wrath of the group.

The group, in its twitter handle said the action was carried because Chevron ignored their warning.

The tweet reads: “We Warned #Chevron but they didn’t Listen. @NDAvengers just blow up the
Escravos tank farm Main Electricity Feed PipeLine”.
