Face of Idoma carnival beauty queen, Ashley Maryam Yusuf, was involved in a ghastly motor accident along deadly Lafia -Akwanga road in Nassarawa state on Tuesday .
She was said to be travelling from Abuja to Benue State for her Project to feed 500 Orphans today.
She was so unconscious for a while and after she regained consciousness, she narrated was she could remember.
According to the beauty queen, the driver of the vehicle “Benue Links” with Registration Number MkD-270 XA which she chattered for her journey was driving at an overwhelming speed which they (she and two siblings) kept cautioning him but he persisted until one of the tyres pulled out and the car started somersaulting immediately.
The car was said to have flipped four times before landing on its back.
The trapped passengers who were rescued by other road users plying the same route, we learnt were rushed to the emergency ward of the nearest hospital for treatment in Oturkpo.
She sustained severe injuries and having excruciating pains, but receiving treatment, recuperating.
It was gathered that the driver did not make it out alive as he was confirmed dead at the scene.
In a telephone chat with Pointblanknews.com Ashley said “We give God the glory. We were four in the vehicle, my younger ones, myself and driver. We chattered it, we were going for the Agatu children’s party I told you about.”
” The guy was over speeding, I kept telling him slow down, he kept saying no problem, and then the tyre pulled out and the car left the road and started somersaulting, I was unconscious but regained consciousness after a while and started yelling for my brother who was stuck because the seat belt was stuck. Was just crazy. We thank God.”
