Rivers guber: MOSOP lambasts APC, PDP for not giving tickets to Ogoni sons

The Prince Biira-led  Movement for the Survival of Ogoni People (MOSOP), has  taken a  swipe at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State for not fielding any Ogoni person as flag-bearer of the parties in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

Biira who briefed some Ogonis after their meeting in Port Harcourt said they will take their pound of flesh from the parties during the elections proper.

“We wish to reiterate our position that we will reject any political party that refused to offer it’s platform for the actualisation of the Ogoni ambition to govern Rivers State come 2023. We assure that APC and PDP will suffer defeat in Ogoniland as we will mobilise our people against them. This implies that any political party that offer their platforms for Ogoni sons and daughters to contest the upcoming governorship polls in 2023 will qualify for our electoral support and goodwill,” he stated.

He opined that the actions of the parties was intended to undermine Ogoni politicians.

“The time to take our political destiny in our hands is now and we will be convoking an Ogoni National Conference where issues relating to our political emancipation would be deliberated upon and decisive decisions taken. We this, urged all sons and daughters of Ogoni irrespective of political affiliation to realise that the current political happenings is a slap on us all and therefore, there is need for all of us to work concertedly as the struggle continues,” he emphasized.

He condemned some Ogoni leaders fir alleging selling their governorship ambition for a paltry sum.

“Nonetheless, we condemned the role played by some Ogoni leaders whose slave mentality of subservient and gullibility have so much unhelpful to the course. It’s an inexcusable betrayal that they sold the governorship interest if Ogoni for a peanut, they pretend to love Ogoni but they actually hates us. We advice these characters to leave Ogoni alone or risks corresponding consequences,” Biira warned.
