S’South youths commend IGP over elevation of Rivers CP

… Charges incoming CP to be proactive

South South Youth Initiative (SSYI) has commended the Inspector General of Police, Baba Alkali Usman for deeming it fit to elevate the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Friday Eboka to the rank of an Assistant Inspector General.

National President of South South Youth Initiative, Comrade Imeabe Saviour Oscar who made the commendation in a media chat in Port Harcourt, said CP Friday Eboka has been a super cop who has shown professionalism in combating crime in the state.

“The South South Youth Initiative wishes to commend the Inspector General of Police for deeming it to consider the elevation of Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Friday Eboka to the rank of Assistant Inspector General (AIG).

” We are sure that his desire for excellence, positive character, toughness, dynamism, professionalism, focus and commitment to the peace and security Rivers State has earned him this elevation and honour.

“This milestone is a testament of your ingenuity, sagacity and dedication to service. You have just got an awesome opportunity to prove that you are better than the rest”, he said.

The South South youth leader also used the opportunity to charge whoever is coming to replace Eboka as CP to improve on the standard already established and not plunge the state into security crisis.

“We before now, we are aware of the security challenges in the state and how CP Friday Eboka has been able to tackle them and we also expect that the IGP will deem it fit to bring someone that would also maintain.

“We expect that whoever is coming to take over from him as Commissioner of Police should be able to do better as we don’t want any vacuum in the security architecture considering the forthcoming elections as we expect him to give Rivers people effective policing during this period,” he said.
