Rivers police hunts for killer truck driver

Rivers State Police Command say they are  still trailing the driver whose trailer killed a child and injured his mother and siblings at the Rumuosi junction axis of the East-West Road, Rivers State over the weekend.

Spokesperson for the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, who made this known said investigation is ongoing.

Eyewitnesses had earlier  told reporters at the scene of the accident that the trailer driver was driving at a very high speed when he lost control while approaching Rumuosi Junction. The eyewitness said the trailer hit the median of the road and fell on a two-year-old child.

He said the mother of the child, and her other two children are in hospital.

The eyewitness said the driver took to his heels immediately the accident occurred.
