Super Falcons step up eight places in FIFA ranking

Super Falcons of Nigeria have climbed eight places in the latest FIFA Coca-Cola women’s world ranking released  Friday morning.

The latest ranking was released on FIFA’s official website.

The nine-time African champions is now 32nd position in the world.

The Super Falcons’ rise is attributed to their impressive performance at the just concluded 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Nigerian ladies were unbeaten at the group stage, holding Olympic champions Canada to a 0-0 and edging co-hosts Australia 3-2.

The Super Falcons were however eliminated 4-2 on penalties by The Three Lionesses of England in the last-16.

They remain the number one team in Africa.

South Africa, Cameroon, Morocco and Ghana complete the top five teams on the continent.

The next FIFA/Coca-Cola women’s world ranking will be published on 15 December 2023.
