I’ll fight insecurity in Emohua- Odum

Former member of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Emohua constituency between 1999-2003, Honourable Azubuike Odum has said that he will fight insecurity hampering development in the area if voted into office as chairman of the council in the forthcoming local government elections in the state on October 5.

Odum who made the declaration while speaking with Port Harcourt Spectator also posited that his administration will witness massive empowerment for women and youths, the vulnerable class that have been  neglected in the scheme of things.

Odum who is also the Leader of the SIMplified Movement in Rundele Ward 7, described the high level of insecurity in the area as being responsible for the despicable economic backwardness of the people.

He said, “As a grassroot politician, I know my people and they know me. I understand the political dynamics of the area and have what it takes to lead as well as tackle the hydra-headed menace of insecurity that has plagued the people all this while.

“I have accepted the call of my people to come and salvage Emohua and that is what I will do if voted into power”.

Azubuike Odum who is also an Ambassador of Peace have served in different capacities in the past including serving as Caretaker Committee Chairman of Emohua local government area under the past administration of Barrister Nyesom Wike as governor of the state.

Among groups calling on Chief Odum to run for council chairmanship position of the area in the October 5 council polls include; Simplified Grassroots Ladies  and Simplified Door to Door Grassroots Initiatives.

Others are; Rundele Community, Ibaa, Ogbakiri, Emohua, Isimgbam Women and Odegu youths.
