The Rivers State Police Command says it has achieved another significant milestone following the arrest of two suspected false pastor and ritualist at Rumunduru Community in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesperson of the command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko in a statement recalled that on the 20th of January, 2025 at about 0900hrs youths from the community led by its President, Comrade Henry Worlu raided and arrested the two suspected false pastors namely, Pastor Umoren Bassey, aged 60yrs ‘m’ who is the presiding Pastor of The One God Deliverance Apostolic Church and Pastor Elijah Aniete aged 51yrs ‘m’ who is the Leader of the Power House of Glory International Gospel Church and handed them over to the police.
She said during interrogation, one of the suspects, Pastor Umoren Bassey admitted that he uses spiritual materials to pray for people as directed by God, adding that he can use water and oil to heal people suffering from different spiritual afflictions and has been living in the community for over seventeen years.
Umoren added that he uses the small casket and miracle life oil found in his church to pray for people afflicted with insanity and they get healed within three months.
The statement added that items recovered recovered the suspects includes: One cartridge, small wooden caskets, one sword, fake Naval Passport, thousands of people’s pictures, one leg of children’s shoes, police lanyard, different crosses and spiritual materials.
The PPRO said the suspects and exhibits are currently in Police custody while discreet investigation is ongoing.
