Six DELSU lecturers sacked for sexual harassment of female students

Six lecturers of the Delta State University, Abraka, have been reportedly sacked over various offences, including sexual harassment of female students.

The sack of the lecturers came after a disciplinary committee was set up to investigate the allegations against them.

The University Governing Council at 97th regular meeting held at the weekend, recommended their sack having found them culpable of several offences including sexual harassment of female students by the committee.

The school’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Eddy Agbure, confirmed the development via a statement.

He noted that while six were dismissed, four others were demoted and received various queries for gross misconducts.

He added that investigations revealed that the sacked lecturers were also involved in financial extortion for marks, leaking of examination questions and other corrupt offences.
