BREAKING: Edo election will hold on Saturday – INEC

Despite the appeal by the Police and the Department of State Security,DSS, to shift the Edo State election,  chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, has announced that the governorship election will hold on Saturday as earlier scheduled.

He  made the pronouncement during a press briefing at the state headquarters of the commission on Thursday after a meeting.

Phspectator recalled that the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Services, DSS, had yesterday warned INEC against going ahead with the election on Saturday, citing security concerns.
