JUST IN: DSS arrests Senator Abaribe

The senator representing Abia South senatorial district and Chairman, Senate Committee on Power, Enyinnaya Abaribe has been arreste.

He was arrested by security operatives in mufti, suspected to be men of the Department of State Security, DSS, who trailed him from the National Assembly complex when he was leaving the premises to a popular hotel in the Maitama area of Abuja on Friday.

Reasons for his arrest could not be confirmed at press time.

Abaribe, a former deputy governor and a ranking senator on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has been one of the critics of the APC-led government.
