Rivers: Police confirm killing of four persons in cult clash

The Police in Rivers State has confirmed the killing of four persons in a cult clash in Edeoha and Illa-Upata Community in Ahoada-East Local Government Area of the State.

State Police Commissioner, Musa Kimo while briefing newsmen in Port Harcourt, confirmed the attack in the community and stated that only four persons were killed.

Kimo however, said the command has swung into action in a bid to forestall further killings in the area.

Early, reports had it that over fourteen persons were killed when rival cult groups, lcelanders and Greenlanders clashed in the area.

Reports have it that the two groups have been locked in a battle of supremacy for a while now which led to the formation of vigilante group in the community.

But in a fresh attack on Saturday April 30, the Greenlanders allegedly wiped away a family of four in Edeoha.

Sources in the community had to The Port Harcourt Spectator that in a reprisal attack, Icelanders invaded Illa-Upata and allegedly killed over fourteen persons which led to members of the community fleeing for their life.

Similarly, a twenty-six years-old boy was reportedly killed by unknown gunmen in Agba-Ndele in Emohua Local Government Area of the state.

The boy was said to be a student of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education.
