Rivers Assembly confirms caretaker nominees

Rivers State House of Assembly (RVHA) has confirmed caretaker committee members for seventeen out of the twenty-three local government councils that make up the state.

Speaker of the assembly, Rt. Hon. Dabotorudima Adams before confirming the members read a letter forwarded to it by the governor, Nyesom Wike requesting the assembly to screen and confirm them.

Those confirmed are: Samuel Nwanosike for Ikwerre LGA, Sam Ejekwu –Port Harcourt, Prince Collins Onunwor- Obio/Akpor, Oyi Igenewari-Abua/Odual, Britain Ewor- Ahoada East, Roland Sekibo-Akuku-Toru, Kabang Offings-Andoni, Charles Jumbo-Bonny, Michael Amadi- Etche, John Wokoma-Emohua and Johnson Wogu-Eleme.

Others are Prince Isaac Umejuru –Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni, Titus Wakama-Ogu/Obolo, Bibigoka Jackbara-Okrika, Stanley Woju-Omuma, Uchenna Okowa-Oyigbo and Perkins Kelu for Tai.

Also screened and confirmed today was a commissioner designate, Mr. Allison Bethel Iheanyichukwu.

Responding to questions shortly after the plenary session, Whip of the house, Evans Bipi said the other batch of caretaker nominees are expected soon to fill-up the remaining councils.

On why some nominees were asked to “take a bow and leave”, Bipi said the members already have their details, adding that some of them who are returning members have earlier been screened.
