By: Our Correspondent

As Rivers State government led by Nyesom Ezenwo Wike continue to sing praises for completion of projects initiated by former governor Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi, now the Honorable minister for transportation, and take the credit in the face of insecurity, the All Progressives Congress candidate for Rivers South-East senatorial district, Senator Magnus Abe said development without security is meaningless’’

Abe further added that no meaningful development can take place in face of insecurity in a society like Rivers State where life has no value again, criminality and other vices now the order of the day, such society will say they have a government?

Abe who was a former lawmaker in the state, former commissioner for information respectively under the then governor Peter Odili, and   was also secretary to the state government under Rt. Hom Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi led government, said any government that has failed from its primary responsibility to protect life and property have indeed failed.

Senator Abe while reacting to a statement credited to the PDP alleging that the past administration killed the security system in the state, admonished the Rivers State PDP led government to support the police without conditions.

He accused PDP led state government of not giving the police the needed support, even when they do; they attach conditions to it, making it difficult for the police to function efficiently   in the State.

He challenged the state PDP chairman, Felix Obuah , Rivers State government to arrest and prosecute Solomon Ndigbara and other criminals in the State without   political interference.

He described what is happening in the State under the PDP and Wike led administration as genocide against Rivers people especially Ogoni people, “it will soon be over, Ogonis are wiser now”.
