Why I want to lead SWAN-Sirawoo

By Felix Ikpotor

One of the top contenders for the position of president of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr. Honour Sirawoo has revealed his intention for aspiring to govern the body.

Sirawoo who spoke with sports writers in Port Harcourt said his intension is to sanitize the body and return its lost glories.

He said he wants to reposition the association and rid it of quacks who are ridiculing the body.

“I want to return the body to where it use to be. I want to see sports writers being celebrated in this country, I want to sanitize SWAN”, he said.

While appealing for support from sports writers in the state and country at large, Sirawoo who is currently the vice-president South-South of the association noted that since the creation of the body in 1964, nobody from the region has had a shot at the presidency and further promised not to disappoint the association if given the mandate.

On his part, chairman of SWAN in Rivers State, Mr. Sopriala Bob-Manual pledged the support of the chapter towards the actualization of Sirawoo’s ambition.
