Army declares war on cultists in Rivers

By: Felix Ikpotor

Due to the incessant attacks on communities in Rivers State by suspected cultists, the Army 2 Brigade in Port Harcourt has warned that any more attack by the cultists would attract a full scale respond from the army.

The army also confirmed the killing of its men by the cultists in communities it has attacked in the state.

Spokesman of the army in Port Harcourt, Captain Eli Lazarus in a statement urged the cultists to surrender their arms or face full military action.

Capt. Lazarus noted that the crisis is a fight for supremacy between two rival cult groups, Iceland and Greenlanders, urging parents to warn their wards to stay away from bad gangs.

It would be recalled that alleged cultists have sacked some communities in Emouha and Ikwerre local government areas of the state.
