Insecurity: Council Boss Bans Okada

Due to the activities of cultists in Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State, the council chairman, John Wokoma has imposed a ban on the activities of motorcycles popularly known as ‘okada’ in the area.

The council boss whom came out with this after a meeting with stakeholders in the area said the ban begins with immediate effect and will remain until security situation normalises in the area.

By this ban, motorcycles can only operate between 6:00am and 6:00pm.

Wokoma said security agencies have been directed to carryout the order and to arrest defaulters and further warned that activities of cultist would not be condoned in the council.

It would be recalled that Ibaa, Obelle and other communities in the area have been a flash point for cultists in the past weeks with several persons killed and communities sacked.
