The lawmaker representing Orelope constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Gideon Aremu, has been assassinated by unknown gunmen on Friday night.
According to report by one of the Cable, the gunmen trailed the lawmaker to his residence in Egbeda Local Government Area of the state and shot him severally.
Oyo State police command spokesperson, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the report, said investigation into the assassination is ongoing already.
Ajisebutu said, “I can confirm that the incident happened late yesterday, and the police have swung into action.”
