Moroccan club, Wydad Casablanca have insisted that they have completed the signing of Nigeria’s Chisom Chikatara.

The Abia Warriors striker is yet to join the Moroccan team, despite a statement on the club’s website that a deal has been completed.

The statement reads, “Chisom Chikatara, the new Wydad signing, did not arrive at Casablanca as scheduled, even though Wydad met all the details of his transfer by the due dates, and took all the legal measures to insure his smooth transition.”

“According to the national and international laws and regulations in this matter, Wydad’s board of directors will contact the president of Abia Warriors FC to question the failure to commit to what was agreed upon.

“The board of directors also renews their commitment to all the agreements and terms of their contract with both the club, and the player; however we are not open to re-negotiations, and will not allow any kind of blackmailing, because above all, the board defends the interests of our club.

“The club maintains its position, and respects all aspects of his agreement signed in the past, and awaits the arrival of his new player Chisom Chikatara.”

Meanwhile, Abia Warriors chairman, Emeka Inyama averred that they have not reached any agreement with Wydad on the transfer of the player.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) equally confirmed that they have not issued Chikatara’s International Transfer Certificate.
