Why I joined APC – Ogiri

The immediate past Director of Finance of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Henry Ogiri has formerly announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

He made the declaration when he joined the immediate former Governor of the state, now Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi to commiserate with the family of the literary icon, Captain Elechi Amadi.

The former PDP leader and close associate to the former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, said he decided to join the All Progressives Congress in order to bring the government closer his people.

Ogiri promised to work for the interest of the APC to bring more development in the state and beyond.

“What I can say is that I’m happy to be back to where I belong. I’m happy to be back to my politically family with my friend and boss and I look forward to a good working relationship with him.

“On why I have joined the APC, it is freedom of association for me to affiliate myself to any party of my choice. At the appropriate time, I will inform you why I left the PDP. One of my aims is to bring the Federal government closer to my people,” Ogiri said.
