Six killed as car rams into commercial bus at EKSU gate

No fewer than five persons were reportedly killed in an auto crash Monday night at the gate of the Ekiti State University, EKSU.

Police spokesperson in the state, Alberto Adeyemi, stated that officers at the scene confirmed that five bodies were conveyed to the mortuary of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital (EKSUTH).

According to DAILYPOST, a witness said the accident was caused by some boys suspected to be Internet fraudsters, otherwise known as “Yahoo boys”, who were driving on a high speed at the busy junction.

He said some “Yahoo boys” crashed their car into a mini-commercial vehicle conveying students from the campus.

“The yahoo-yahoo boys must have been heavily drunk and they drove carelessly and collided with the commercial bus.

“Six people died on the spot and one of them is hanging between life and death now. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officers have taken the corpse of the dead to the morgue”, the witness disclosed.
